In this article, I share the lessons I’ve learned through my personal journey and how these experiences have shaped my ability to guide others toward their own transformations. Whether you’re looking for direction in your career, relationships, or spiritual growth, my story may resonate with you.
My Journey: From Dreams to Reality
My story is the story of an ordinary person, but one who has faced and overcome many challenges in life.
Along the way, I have reinvented myself numerous times, listening to the desires of my heart and letting them guide me through every change.
A Happy Childhood in Odessa
I had a wonderful childhood in Odessa, Ukraine, back when it was part of the USSR.
I grew up in a loving family, surrounded by my parents, grandparents, and my brother. I had my own dreams and hopes, but, as it often happens, they didn’t always come true as quickly as I had hoped.
A Dream of Building and Change
From a young age, I dreamt of becoming a builder.
Construction, however, was considered an unsuitable field for women, even in the Soviet Union. My parents believed a more secure path was in economics, so they encouraged me to pursue a college degree in this field, which they thought had more prospects.
Though my heart was set on construction, this education in economics turned out to be invaluable later in life.
During my time at the institute, I became an active student, and my photo was proudly displayed on the honor board.
I graduated with honors, despite the fact that I wasn’t passionate about the profession.
Starting Anew in America
Soon after graduating, I got married, and we moved to Chicago. At first, I had no clear plans for what I wanted to do in the US, but I knew one thing:
I was determined to succeed and become self-sufficient and prosperous.
In every job I took, I kept my dream alive, and I always remembered my intention to succeed. Looking back now, I realize that my heart was always guiding me towards my true path, and that I was meant to follow these signs.
A Shift in Career Path
After several years of hard physical work in fast food restaurants in downtown Chicago, I reached a breaking point. I realized that this would not lead me anywhere, and that it was time to move on.
I was introduced to the world of real estate through a girl I met at a pharmaceutical company. Without hesitation, I completed the necessary courses, passed the licensing exam, and became a realtor at Century 21.
It was after attending my first motivational seminar that my life took a dramatic turn.
One phone call changed everything—an opportunity to evaluate a house for sale led me to a mentor who taught me construction, transforming my career into something I had always dreamed of.
Building My Dream
I dove headfirst into the construction business, a field that brought me immense joy. Gradually, I gained investors and partners, and what began as a small-scale development project expanded to over 100 apartments per year.
I also built several new houses, fulfilling my childhood dream.
Personal Struggles: A Growing Distance
While my career flourished, my personal life was unraveling. My husband and I grew further apart. We constantly argued, creating a tense environment that affected our daughter.
Despite both of us working hard, we were drifting further from each other.
I had become the builder I always dreamed of being, yet I felt unsupported by the man I had once called my partner. As he focused solely on his small tow truck business, he showed no interest in helping me build my dreams.
Our relationship turned from one of love to mere cohabitation.
At 34, I realized our marriage had reached an irreparable point.
Although he was a good man—supporting the family financially, loyal, and loving—I was unfulfilled.
I could no longer ignore the growing distance between us, and the constant tension was damaging our daughter.
The hardest decision of my life was to separate. Despite the fact that he was a good husband, I knew I deserved more.
I needed a partner who shared my dreams, a partner who would walk beside me in life, not just co-exist with me. After three years of contemplation, I chose to leave.
The Decision to Change
It wasn’t long before I found the love I had been searching for.
Interestingly, the man I found was someone who had been in my life for years, yet I had never considered him in a romantic way. He was an investor in my business for five years, and by the time I was preparing for a divorce, he had been divorced from his wife for three years and was also ready for a new beginning.
Our relationship blossomed quickly after one unforgettable romantic moment.
Soon after, we married, and our life together was nothing short of magical.
Our love created a powerful energy that inspired others to pursue their own happiness.
Success and Challenges in Business and Life
As a couple, we shared the same vision, and together, we built a large business conglomerate.
Our growth was rapid, but it came with its challenges.
As our financial and social status rose, so did our egos, and unfortunately, this started to erode our relationship.
At that time, we weren’t aware of the importance of spiritual growth in nurturing a relationship. Our egos took over, leading to a collapse in both our marriage and business.
After 11 years of marriage, we lost everything.
Our business, which had reached a value of $12,000,000, crumbled, and the cause was rooted in my husband’s alcohol addiction.
I won’t go into the details of what happened to him, but I can say it wasn’t good.
Finding True Love
Spiritual Transformation
While the collapse of our business was painful, it was also a catalyst for my spiritual transformation. This crisis awakened something deep within me.
I began my spiritual journey before meeting my second husband, but I had lost sight of it while focusing solely on the material aspects of life.
Had I continued my spiritual growth, I believe the destructive forces in our marriage and business could have been avoided.
But I believe everything happens for a reason, and this experience opened the door to my spiritual awakening.
Despite the difficulties, I have never given up on my dreams.
My journey has introduced me to countless inspiring, spiritually-minded people who are dedicated to transforming themselves and the world around them.
And as I continue on my spiritual path, I know that the happier I become, the more I can contribute to a happier world.
I live in the moment now, embracing the country where I’ve long dreamed of being.
I’ve learned that my dreams always come true, perhaps not exactly as I imagined, but in ways that are even better than I could have envisioned.
And so, my journey continues, filled with growth, transformation, and the belief that anything is possible.
